Appearance(s): 28 Days Later (film)
Profession: Animal Freedom Front activist
Nationality: British
Category: Infected

Cause of Infection: Bitten on the neck by one of the infected chimps

Status: Deceased
Cause of death: Unknown; most likely starvation
This animal rights activist was one of the members of the Animal Freedom Front that were sent to the Cambridge Primate Research Centre to free the captive chimpanzees. They released one of the chimps, unaware that it was infected with the Rage Virus, which then attacked and bit her before her fellow activists killed it. This activist then became the first infected human, and almost immediately proceeded to attack and infect her fellow activists and a scientist. She presumably died of starvation with the other original Infected within the next nine weeks.

Infected Chimps[]

Portrayed by: N/A
Appearance(s): 28 Days Later (film)
28 Days Later: The Aftermath
Profession:
Nationality:
Category: Infected
Status: Unknown; possibly deceased
Cause of death: Unknown

The infected chimps were an unknown number of chimpanzees that were exposed to the Rage Virus by Clive and Warren. Though they immediately attacked and spread the Rage Virus to humans when freed, their brain functions appeared to be less impacted by the Infection than human hosts, retaining sadistic responses such as clapping their hands as they watched the Infection spread among humans while caged.

Clive and Warren kept them at the Primate Research Facility in Cambridge. While most of the infected chimps were kept in glass cages, one or two were strapped to a table and made to watch footage of riots and urban violence and rage. When animal rights activists sent by the Animal Freedom Front freed one of the chimps, it attacked, bit and infected one of the activists, prompting another activist to kill it.

At least two other chimps were able to escape, and, with the infected activists, allowed the Rage Virus to spread throughout mainland Britain. One of these chimps attacked and infected Warren on the night that it broke out, while the other attacked and infected Liam at Cherry Hinton Hall the next day, before Sid and Roger beat it to death. It is unknown what happened to the other chimps, but they presumably died of starvation with most of the infected humans within the next six - nine weeks.

The scientist tried to kill the infected activist, but she attacked him and presumably either infected or killed him. If the former is so, then the scientist presumably died of starvation within the next nine weeks. theories say that he was the creator of the rage virus in the canonical universe

Cause of death: Torn apart by Infected
This man was a sniper in the US Army, and was assigned to join the US-led NATO force of soldiers under Brigadier General Stone's command that were responsible for repatriating London, and was one of the rooftop snipers guarding District One. When the Second Outbreak of the Rage Virus started in the Green Zone and Code Red was executed, he began shooting and killing both Infected and civilians. However, he was eventually overwhelmed with guilt and remorse over killing innocent people, and decided to shoot himself. Selena then arrived and, while she escaped, a group of Infected broke onto the roof and attacked the sniper, biting his neck open and presumably killing him.
