Kate was the mother of Douglas and the leader of a gang of survivors after the Rage Virus decimated Great Britain.
Biography[]
Following the Original Outbreak of the Rage Virus, Kate became the leader of a gang of other survivors. She sent many members of the group (including her husband, her son Douglas, and her brother or brother-in-law Roger) to Halkirk in search of food when resources began to run out. However, none of them ever returned.
28 Days Later (comic series)[]
One day two months after the Original Outbreak, Gordon took Clint Harris, Selena and Derrick to Kate at her safe house, and Clint and Selena requested protection from her for the blind Derrick. Kate refused at first, but ultimately decided to take Derrick in, and tricked Clint and Selena into going to Halkirk to rescue Douglas. When Clint and Selena did not return with Douglas by nightfall, Kate considered murdering Derrick before Cameron talked some sense into her.
When Clint and Selena returned with Douglas, Kate at first happily reunited with her son. But the next day, Douglas left with Clint, Selena and Derrick, against Kate's strong objections. Kate's current status after Clint, Selena, Douglas and Derrick left is unknown.
Personality[]
Kate was shown to be cold and callous, and unwilling to help other survivors outside of her group who were in desperate need. Despite this, she was not truly heartless, as she did love her son, Douglas, despite her wrong decisions about sending him to Halkirk.

- In Issue 7, Kate's eyes were blue, but in Issue 8, they were brown.
